Temple’s Sugar Bush Weddings – also known as Temple’s Country Weddings – is a hidden gem in Lanark. Nestled in the heart of a maple forest, it is a wedding venue with country charm and all the necessary amenities.
About Temple’s Sugar Bush Weddings
Temple’s Sugar Bush is a 70 acre working sugar bush with about 5 000 taps. You can purchase maple syrup year round in the gift shop. As well, specialty items like maple granola, maple butter and even maple beer are sold as well. The renowned Pancake House is open during maple season in March and April for breakfast.
The venue is often referred to as Temple’s Sugar Bush Weddings, but it’s really Temple’s Country Weddings to help make the distinction between their Sugar Bush operations and the elegant country weddings they host.
There is ample free guest parking.
Getting Ready and Overnight Accommodations at Temple’s
There is a designated dressing suite – called the “Sugar Camp Loft” on site where one partner can get ready. It is light, bright and airy. But it may be a bit small for larger wedding parties and hair and makeup prep. It is on the second floor and accessible by stairs only. Also, a small Log Cabin is available on site for the second partner. It has a rustic feel and can be a bit dark for hair and makeup prep. The Log Cabin is great for gathering pre-ceremony.
Temple’s Sugar Bush Weddings does not have overnight accommodations. You will need to book off-site. The Brookstreet Hotel, The Grand Hotel and Perth Parkside In and Spa are all popular choices.
Stephanie and Joey opted to get ready at their parental homes before heading to their Temple’s Sugar Bush Wedding ceremony.
The Grounds and Photography Opportunities
You will have a choice of a Garden ceremony or Maple Forest Ceremony for your outdoor Temple’s Sugar Bush wedding.
The Garden is beautifully landscaped. There are colourful perennials that attract butterflies. A pretty white pergola sits on stone steps. You can add white chairs to this location for an elegant, more “formal” feel.
The Maple Forest location feels like a magical escape into nature. You will be surrounded by the stillness of trees and sunshine peeking through the leaves. Rustic wooden benches, blankets and lanterns add to the natural charm of this location.
Umbrellas and blankets are available as part of Temple’s Sugar Bush weddings in case Mother Nature doesn’t fully cooperate with your outdoor plans.
The stone fireplace in the loft is the foul-weather indoor option or winter wedding option. It is a cozy, romantic setting to exchange your vows.
It goes without saying that The Gardens, Maple Forest and loft are all beautiful for wedding day photography locations at Temples Sugar Bush. Everything is in close proximity. Additionally, the bright red front of the loft is an iconic photo location for a Temple’s Sugar Bush Wedding. The traditional black sleigh is another iconic Temples setup. Don’t forget about the Log Cabin too. It is super cute for wedding photos.
Stephanie and Joey had their First Look in the Garden. We then took a quick walk around the property for some variety in their photos.
Stephanie and Joey’s First Look also included a very special “reveal” that they then shared later with everyone during their reception:
Their Wedding Party joined them for a few photos before everyone retreated for the start of their Maple Forest ceremony.
The weather was perfect for an outdoor wedding. Stephanie and Joey had a gorgeous Maple Forest ceremony.
Reception
The venue is fully licensed. Cocktail hour can be on the outdoor tented patio.
You will host your Temple’s Sugar Bush Wedding in the loft-style dining room with giant pine post and beams, hardwood floors and dramatic vaulted ceilings. The room is stunning in its own right without décor. However, a selection of décor that can be personalized is included in your wedding package. The coordination team will handle all the setup.
Pro Tip: The room can really sing with custom drapery and florals!
Red Seal chefs will prepare your meal. They will work with you to curate your wedding menu. Of course, given the nature of the venue, there are maple-inspired menu options. But the chefs can customize options based on culture, preferences or allergies. The food is truly exceptional. Your guests will enjoy a culinary experience.
Stephanie and Joey chose to have their First Dance outside on the stone patio.
The Temple’s Sugar Bush Weddings Team
